Aunt Susi

We have been busy this week with a wonderful visit with my one and only sister, Susan. It is always a joy to get together as we live in different countries and only get to see each other once every few years. It has been 3 years since we last had a visit from her. The girls were beyond overjoyed to have her come. Today we had a little tea party (just us girls). Something she probably doesn't get to do often with her kids (she has 3 boys).

There is something so special about good relationships that are so natural even if it has been years since you last were together. I love those kinds of kindred spirit relationships. I hope my girls have that kind of friendship as they grow.

My sister was commenting on how different it is to be around girls. She says they are quiet, obedient, relational and don't challenge me. Then she said, "I hope you know how good you have it with your girls." What would a boy do to our mix of things around the house? Wouldn't it be fun to find out???

Well, I am off to go and pick up Chuck at the airport. So I guess that will be our mix of boy in to the home for the weekend. =) Oh, BTW, for all those of you who are still praying for Big Daddy to get that job, keep praying. Earl (AKA, Big Daddy) and Sandy dropped by the house on Tuesday just to visit and ask some questions. It was a very surprise of a visit (as I have never met them before and had no idea they were coming) and turned out to be a nice visit. He is still in the running for that job. I told them that we are praying that he gets it (to which Sandy said, "Keep praying".)

It was a great tea party, with 3 different kinds of tea. Yum. Thanks for the great time so far. It's wonderful to be here. There is nothing better than your sister being your friend.
And yes, girls are much quieter than boys. Sure wish we could add a little girl to our family mix of boys...sigh.

How cool that your sister is a missionary. I had no idea. And nice that you got to see her too of course. I've always been very close to my sisters and I so hope that I've raised my own children to grow up tight-knit as well.

Susan has my sympathy. There will never be a tea party with my gang either!

I can relate to this today. I am at my sister's. I haven't seen her in three years. Being around my niece, the only young girl in the crowd with 5 boys is different. She is so sweet and loving.

Have fun with your sister! My youngest sister is coming in on Sunday for 2 weeks and I can't wait. BTW... love those dishes- I have the same ones you know. My plates look beat up... any secrets for the scratches and marks??

Stacia, there is a Pfaltzgraff cleaner that you can get that takes off those scratch marks. It is made for stone ware.

Copy and paste this to find it.

Chuck is home, safe and sound. There was a huge storm that was hovering over the airport right when his flight was to land and they had to zip over to another city, land and refuel. Then he was rerouted back home. A bit of a hassle, but I am glad that he is safe. I wasn't able to see the road at 20 mph on the highway, I couldn't imagine a pilot could see to land a plane.

Just in case a boy were to ever enter your mix, you'll be happy to know that they are wonderful in their own way! I never got so many kisses in my life...until I became the mother of boys. Being the only female at my house (even my DOG is a boy!), I get treated like a queen. Every day I hear how beautiful I am (the boys say I'm prettier than an angel). They always want to know how they can serve me. While I used to dream of a daughter (and if God wills it, I would be thrilled), I know I am truly blessed to have my sweet boys! God knew what He was doing after all (am I surprised?!?).

Tea parties are wonderful, aren't they?! I am so enjoying tea parties now with my little girls. Never thought that would be in my future! Hey, you never know what God has planned...hmmm,maybe we should be praying for a boy for your mix? :)
Blessings on your time with your sister, enjoy every moment so it will hold you till the next time.

How great you got to visit with your sister! I see my sister more often, but still only about once per year, so I understand how special those visits are.
I do wonder how a little boy (or two :) would change your household. It would probably be a lot of fun!
