Is it summer yet?

Because I don't have the energy to finish our last 2 official days to make it to 180 days of school. The weather is sunny and warm and beautiful. The play set if finally up and they girls want to play on it instead of do school. The neighborhood pool is open and it is only open through the summer, so I think we should swim instead of do math facts. And we are having fun letterboxing in our new area (it is more fun than phonics and language arts).

I feel like throwing responsibility out the window and just have a little fun instead. See ya later...we are off to the park.

The 180 days is SO ridiculous! Kids only learn on "formal" school days?
We LOVE letterboxing! The girls want to make a few and hide them, we'll see.
Hope your summer is wonderful!

wow- if you got that close to 180 days then you are doing better than most of us! Good for you! You deserve a day at the park.

Hey Proverb Mom...I could have guessed that you letterboxed. It just seems like something you would like.

Cris, cut yourself some slack and remember the days in school that we had field trips, field day and good old fashioned p.e. I say count these as your last two days of school and RELAX!!!!!

I think you need to re-check YOUR math... like re-counting your school daze. ; ) I bet you missed a couple the first time you counted. -- You have done a FANTASTIC job this year, under difficult circumstances. I say in 2009, 178=180... especially when you change time zones. Congrats on a great school year, and on a job well done. You are amazing!

Grandma here wishes she were headed for the pool with you.
Enjoy. It is neat that you can almost see the pool from Tally's bedroom. Hugs

Good for you - do the fun things with your kids while you have the chance. Summer's novelty wears off eventually, and you will have time to finish up a few math facts later on, whether formally or informally. How much more will they learn about life from a mom who loves them enough to make time for them?

God bless you,
Jen

Does your new state require 180 days, or is that your personal goal?

-And don't you have all summer to do those last 2 days-worth?

You go girl! You do so much "unofficial teaching" that your last two days could easly be checked off with just your "teaching/living" style. Rack 'em up and call it good!

What nice friends and family to give you praise and affirmation. I am sure you will catch up sometime on those 2 days when you are all inside in the AC and someone has the sniffles...
You deserve a break TODAY!

Have fun at the pool, didn't know it was so close. How fun. Is this the neighborhood association pool or public pool?
