What you DIDN'T get for Christmas

OK...so we all know it was a slim Christmas this year around here. We were too busy moving, packing, cleaning and so on to do any Christmas shopping. And to be completely honest, we were to CHEAP to actually spend the money. We really didn't get anything for each other this year. We did manage to get the girls some little things on Christmas Eve eve (AKA December 23) so there was something to open under the tree. But everything else was neglected. And though, I am not going to do the old "feeling sorry for myself" routine, it is kind of fun to think about things that you DIDN'T get for Christmas but you would have enjoyed unwrapping.

We played this game back at Thanksgiving time with my whole family and listed things that we would give our loved ones if we could afford it. It really was fun and I think it is almost therapeutic to dream big dreams.

So, here is my list of things that it would have been fantastic if Santa had put these these in my stocking this year. (A girl can dream right???)

  • a New Inductive Study Bible (HERE)
  • a really nice juicer (HERE - 2nd one on the page)
  • a good camera (HERE - to replace my old broken good camera)
So...dream with me. Share with me what you DIDN'T get for Christmas, but you would have loved it if you had? Do tell.

I wanted a Wii Fit. Joel looked and looked for one and couldn't find one. It got him so mad! Now it seems like we're moving the Wii out of our bedroom and into the boys' room, plus Joel renewed our membership to the Y...so the Wii Fit may not be the best fit!

I wanted the Wii Fit, but it was sold out locally right before Christmas. And I'd LOVE to have a Nikon D90, but it's hard to justify the price when I'm such an amateur. A girl can dream though.

I have a hard cover inductive study bible (Kay Arthur thing) that I got on uber discount a few days after Christmas one year. Think I spent 5 bucks. So... keep an eye out and maybe you can snag one for yourself on a sale table.

What I didn't get for Christmas that I wanted: another cat.

I love this post!

I would have loved to receive the money to pay for my haiti trip. We have had many unforeseen financial emergencies over the past month and money is tight!

In spite of all the moving - our Christmas was GREAT! And - you got your Bible - or almost! Thanks for a great time! Having our family with a desire to love and serve the Lord is the best Christmas present ever! I couldn't ask for more - well, I could - but don't need it! Love You!

I got my biggest wish by having you all together. There were no presents under our tree...we just decided not to spend. On Christmas Day we went on the computer and ordered chickens, blankets and clothes for missionaries in India. Wanted to get the Message Bible, but found I can read it on the computer. That's even better ..no charge!

I didn't (yet) get the good kind of wheat mill, so we're still using the ancient one...I'll never make bread without thinking of you!

This Christmas we recieved the gift we wanted most, just being together with family. No moving, no trips, no stress. On the other hand...if I could...I would ask for a pressure canner, camera (like yours) and long arm quilting machine =) Hope to see your new home soon!

That was fun to play the "Dream Gift Game" at Thanksgiving. I think it would be fun to have some Going-Out-to-Eat coupons. Since we have been trying to be extra careful with our $, we havn't gone out to eat at all. It would also be fun to go an a fancy ski weekend with the boys and stay at a lodge. A trip to Hawaii to go snorkling with my husband would be fun to...
But God has already blessed us with so much. We have everything we need!! AND MORE already!!!
