Replenishing Moments

I love routine. I am a creature of habit. I find comfort in it. I think most people do. And this is how I start my mornings. I used to start with a cup of coffee, but I gave that up during lent, and I never started it again. Now my day starts and ends the same way. A cup of tea. In the mornings it is green tea and in the evenings, I savor my sleepy time tea. I even have favorite mugs. I like tea in a light colored cup so I can see how strong it is. The only bummer is it begins to stain the cup.

I think it is important to find the little things in life that replenish you. Things that lift your spirits, make your day a little more happy. In short...replenish you. I have come to find out, the cup of tea I have each morning does replenish me. I often have it while I read my bible, check email, glance at the day's agenda. I do enjoy this time.

So, what replenishes you? Maybe a replenishing moment each day, or maybe something less frequent. I do love that word "replenish" - it just fills me up to think about it.

What replenishes me? A shower. In the morning, I use it as a time to reflect and pray ~ uninterrupted time, the start of my day. If I had a stressed/worn out/tired kinda day or are feeling cold or hot (depending on the season) then a shower after dinner replenishes me. I even have to camp where there is a public shower ~ it is like my coffee (which I do not drink either)...gotta have it once, sometimes twice, a day. :)

Your Tea Routine sounds nice!

OH I agree. I think God makes our world, life full of those little joys that feed our soul.... so one of mine, is lying on my bed at night, with my kids around and reading a good book, outloud. Sometimes, if the book is too advanced for the little ones, they just play while my older is into the story.....

Does the Sleepy Time tea really make you sleepy? I've always assumed it was a placebo!

Cris
Reading your blog is always so delightful. You make me want to be a mom all over again.
I wish I could make the switch to green tea but it seems to leave a film on my teeth...is that just me? lol
Keep on sharing the every day things in life. I love it all!

I do love my morning (and only) cup of coffee. It's the one thing I look forward to waking up to. I enjoy my Bible time. Realizing how much God is in control helps me feel safe. I also love to take some time to go out to my front porch and be with nature. Working out has become a new form of replenishment for me. Though it's hard to make myself go most days, once I'm into it it is quite enjoyable. There's nothing like working up a good sweat, knowing I'm burning calories and sweating out toxins. I always feel great after a good workout. Also, I love snuggling with my kids.

Actually I find the sleepy time tea does help me. Maybe it is more the idea of it. But I get the Sleepy Time EXTRA (has valarian in it). That seems to help me and when I am in a extra hard insomnia stage, I like Calms Forte that helps me too.

A nice hot bath while the boys are napping "replenishes" me. Sometimes I even need it at night too, just to sit their and read or take deep breaths.

I wish I was a coffee drinker many mornings to help me go, I just use my workout (I guess) to make me get up and go!

I LOVE my tea in the morning too. Although in the summer I have to wake up earlier and enjoy it before the sun makes it too warm to enjoy a steaming drink.

I also love to sit down in a quiet room (or yard) and read a magazine (my favorite is "Country Living"). I get lost in the beautiful pictures of cute cottages and scenic farm-life. What's so nice about it is that I can enjoy it for even 10-15 minutes, put it down and pick back up anytime later on (compared to a book where I am tempted to read it non-stop instead of do chores or sleep).

I also am replentished by music...upbeat praise music in the car or soothing praise music in the evening to wide down.

OK, just 1 more...I am replentished by plants, flowers, sunshine, tress, the moon and stars (I guess anything beautiful in God's creation...then again, who isn't?).

Hey, cute picture....looks like a great magazine add. I feel sleepy just looking at it. Too bad I am not that crazy about the flavor.

I am a green tea drinker in the morning also ! I have never drank coffee. I guess for me it would have to be my morning prayer walk... I go alone and I love it. I can really tell when I don't do it... my days are crummy :) Also....CHOCOLATE always works if I need a pick me up :) Thanks for asking!

Getting lost in a book replenishes me. I just love ending my day with 15 minutes or so of a good read. And, a cup of coffee is my favorite thing in the world but I'm working on breaking that addiction, I'm going for decaf. I want to be a tea drinker but I'm just not. I do like the Chai tea though.

I love to sit out back with my husband after the kids have gone to bed. We look at the stars, holding hands, not saying a word, at least not out loud. We are just together, and that is replenishing for me.

Well, my replenishing is also a routine - 30-40 minute walk while praying and memorizing scripture. Then my orca chai tea (to die for!) while I read my Bible - and a chapter or so of a stimulating (making me think, ponder, reflect) book. Then I'm ready to begin the day. Thank you, Lord, for legs to walk, eyes to read, taste buds to enjoy and a mind (still somewhat in tact!) to think, reflect and worship YOU!

My coffee with Coffee Mate Hazelnut creamer. I've gotten addicted - and I'm thankful for coupons and sales! :)

Morning coffee, in no hurry, or afternoon tea, Chai or other, but very sweet and spicy.

Doing something creative replenishes me, I think. It often leaves me wanting to do more, though. This evening I'll be going to a scrapbook crop evening, and I can hardly wait to get my hand into the pretty paper.

I too am an avid tea drinker (try Celestial Seasonings goji berry pomegranate)

as for the stained cup...sprinkle some baking soda on half a lemon and scrub the inside of the cup.

Found your blog through Shaleen's facebook post and am thoroughly enjoying it :)
