I can't believe it, when did this happen?

I was driving home from our weekly "trip to town" (we really go more than once a week it just sounds so "little house" to say it that way) and was SHOCKED by the gas prices. The last time I filled up it was $3.62 and I had a hard time with that. But it was still closer to $3.50 rather than 4 bucks. But today I noticed it was $3.77. Did you get that??? $3.77. Ugh. I feel like I need to re-evaluate what constitutes a trip to the store or a trip anywhere. It seems like a battle that you can't control. It seems like we are going to be paying over $4 a gallon soon. Is it like this everywhere? And what are you doing about it?

I guess we could all pile on Chuck's scooter (which gets great gas millage) and get around town that way. =) I am not sure we all would fit, not to mention, I am not sure how safe it is. LOL

Gas is $3.62 in our neck of the woods.

Yes, the prices are the same up here outside of D.C. We luckily don't do too much driving anymore.

I find myself calling stores (ie Best Buy, Office Depot) to make sure what I need is in stock before making the trip.

We pay about $6.20 a gallon here...in Japan. It has always been expensive. We try to combine trips out, but when you got to drive somewhere you got to drive somewhere. The other day Tim filled up the car and it cost over $70, choke, choke!!
In the States though, I think it is making flying anywhere more expensive?

That is soo funny that you said that-Monday morning I filled up-I pulled into my BP on 17th filled up heard the "click" put the nozzle back, and about had a heart attack! $61.61!!!! I know my mouth fell open-and I look around the car at the sign to see what it said(I didn't even look going in-too busy looking at my gauges to make sure I made it into the station!) and it was 3.73. Yesterday it was up to 3.79. My dad in Ohio owns a gas station in a small town, and his went to 3.95!!! It's terrible! I too have been pondering what I can do to conserve ......

I filled up Monday at Costco and it was $3.83. I saw at another station $3.93. I can't even look anymore when I fill up, it's too depressing.

Middle of Nevada - we saw $4.17 - kept looking - even in our RV and found $3.67. We filled up in Council Bluffs and were thrilled to find it at $3.35 deducting $250 from our checking account. Whew! Are we crazy or what to "do" a motor home with these prices. Our bicycles will get a good run when we land some place. Thankful though that we have resources to even travel like this!

Oh I know what you mean! I have been thinking the same "ugh" too!
I have been thinking about downsizing vehicles, but ours is paid off and runs great. However, the gas prices are going up and up.....So I don't know!

Wait, get this. I just picked my son up from work,(luckyily he works close to home) and the new total on the gas sticker is $3.85.

This stinks.

We combine errands and do not leave the house half as much as we used to. times are going to get a whole lot worse.

It is terrifying to me. We live about fifteen minutes from my work (and the part of town where everyone we know lives, and where we do everything). I go though probably $100-$120 a week in my car. That just terrifies me...and it is getting worse. That's why I'm sitting here at my office at 10:20 p.m. Maxim is not back from the track meet and I don't want to go all the way home, then have to come back to get him. It really is making life hard.
