I love looking at antiques. I think it is great to re-purpose things and find a new home for something. I was able to visit a local antique fair this weekend. The weather was beautiful, I even got a little sun on my shoulders.
I really enjoyed strolling around and searching for a special find. I often go and buy nothing. This time I came home with...another stool. I have such a thing for stools and chairs. (see this post) Don't ask me why. I just find them so appealing. Especially kid sized chairs.
The caught my eye. A tea set that I had as a child. I remember keeping it in the box and all. The one I owned had a few broken pieces, but this was in great condition. I wasn't willing to pay $45 for it though. The picture of it is enough to bring back the fond memories.
This time I found the bottom blue bench/stool. I have been hunting for one to finish my "stack". I think the only thing that would have made the antiquing more enjoyable would have been to have a few friends with me. Maybe next time. =)

The benches are a nice touch!
I love a good flea market...be assured that if I lived nearby, I would be a willing tag-a-long!
Would you believe I have lived here for 12 years and NEVER gone to the antique show? Call me next time and I'll join you. My "things" are antique fabrics and old children's books. I have a few collections--Bobbsey Twins, Happy Hollisters, Landmark Books, Childhood of Famous Americans. I'll look for stools with you though. :0)
I LOVE the antique fair! I went for a little while Sunday afternoon but didn't find any treasures . While I was wandering around, I thought..."this would be more fun with a few friends". I left the girls and Nate home with my husband, but I was a little bored by myself!
Oh, and my girls had a really nice time getting to know your girls at the park yesterday :)
Benches look great! How cute!Sorry I couldn't join you :0( Mom
Oh, I wish it could be me going with you! That is one of my very favorite things to do!!! I just need a bigger house, though.
I LOVE your little benches! How cute! Hope you don't mind me reading your blog. I found it through Tiffany's. Melissa (met you at Trout Lake and the park)
Welcome aboard Melissa. Glad you found me. =) And as always, thanks for the comment.

The benches are super cute!! It would be fun to go to the antique market with you. Remember when we went around Paradise together? I TOTALLY remember that tea set from when we were little. How funny!!
I love antiques as well. My house itself is an antique LOL!
Your benches look great-I have one like that-but that's it. It's actually in that picture of my daughter on my friends photography site that I linked to on my blog. I have books stacked on it, but I love your idea to stack the benches themselves.
Wow, $45, I think I have a set very close to that one all boxed and in my attic! I also bought a little stool today about the same size. Doing our little booth in the local antique mall is great!
Only open for one week and already sold $100.

I'd love to go sometime too! I love the benches!
I LOVE those benches. You have a great eye. My grandmother and mom love antiques so growing up I swore I would never own one... ever. But now that I am older and less "rebellious" I really appreciate the beauty of them and can't wait to decorate my house with more than a few.
