In my opinion

VBS is the best invention to the stay at home mom (especially the homeschooling mom). To have a few mornings to yourself is delightful. I was informed by some of my local friends of the best VBS programs to check into. I signed the girls up for one yesterday (totally last min.) for one that has an emphasis on sports and art. The girls are taking the craft class and a painting class. And even though Tissy was nervous about going and wasn't sure about me leaving, they had a great morning. They are eager to go back tomorrow and I am SOOOOO grateful for these types of programs. Especially considering no vacation this summer and no sleepover camp (which we did last summer) this was a highlight of the week. Ahhh...what will I do for 3 whole mornings to myself...

Except when all 3 of the VBS programs that your child went to last summer happen to be the same week this summer and the one that you send her to is at your own church which means you have to also work there all week. Don't get me wrong- I love helping w/ VBS, but I also loved some free time last summer. One of the weeks she went to PA w/ my in-laws, so I really had a nice break. Enjoy your mornings.

My kids go to VBS every summer at a little Baptist church down the road. I know the people that run the children's program and totally trust them-they even manage to handle Seth. I am looking forward to that week!

Andrea, I would go to coffee and to the thrift store with you if you were here. Always more fun with a friend.

Now who is up for the pedicure?

You'll have to share with us locals which are the must-visit VBS. Too far from me?

I enjoyed my "VBS" mornings last week. It was just me and the baby!

I remember going to these as a child. My most vivid memory is of Jerusalem created out of sugar cubes! You can imagine how popular THAT project must have been!

I worked VBS for the first time this year and LOVED it. I was a great time for me to get to know some of the ladies in the church, especially since I am the "newbie".

I hope you can rest-relax and get some errands done too. I love to go clothes shopping without my kids (of course they are too embarrassed to wait outside the ladies dressing room. Praying you have a good weekend with Chuck and gets lots of people at your open house!!
