blessed

If you only knew how hard it is for me to post something real and honest like yesterday's post. It is hard for me to show any kind of struggle and I always run the risk of someone trying to be helpful with their words but end up come across as uncaring.

Oh how I was so blessed by your friendship both on the blog here and on FB. Blessed by friends praying for me, encouraging me, reaching out in comforting friendship. I love how I can be encouraged by virtual strangers. By some of you that I have never even met, but because you took the time to write an uplifting note, you were part of the blessing. You were used in such a powerful way to come along side me and lift me up. Handing me that cup of water as I am finishing up the marathon just trying to put one foot in front of the other. I am so grateful for you all. Thank you so much.

Truth be told, as I got started in my studies yesterday in my Precepts Bible lesson (still studying Isaiah), I was so blessed by the Word. Blessed by the truths that I find comfort in. Blessed as I study this book on prophecy, I find comfort for my daily life. Finding joy in God's faithfulness and hope that only He can give.

In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15

Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; how blessed are those who long (wait) for Him. Isaiah 30:18

On a different note, even though we sold our home we are still praying for several friends that are still trying to sell a home in a difficult market. Let me know if I can continue to pray for you in this way...just leave me a comment.

PTL! I was awake so much last night lifting you up in prayer.
Now I feel lifted up by reading your blog. My heart is with you all. Even have a little tear drop falling on my cheek.

Cris, I didn't read yesterday's blog until today so I didn't get a chance to encourage you, but I can SO relate!

Here is one verse that really spoke to me during my time of being unsettled:

1 Peter 5:10 "May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Jesus Christ, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and SETTLE you."

I have discovered that I do not do well with change and so this was also on my tongue day after day over the past couple months- this is the FULL Serenity Prayer~

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next."

Cris,

Oh boy can I relate to where you are. I am actually questioning the whole enduring this myself. I am praying for you. Thanks for writing because it helped me a lot. Hang in there!

I was trying to think of something to write yesterday, something we hadn't already discussed on the phone =) and then last night I was reading in Job and thought to myself...please, please, please don't let me be one of Job's friends!!! Ha! Anyway, I know that you can do this, you are made of the strong stuff!

Waiting for God as He longs to show me His compassion, to be gracious to me and to bless my trust in Him!!!

Interesting that we are all in Isaiah! Chuck is teaching a class on it at church. It is so great!
