Move over Bob the Builder

Like I said before...take advantage of the great things in the area. I am the queen of finding fun things to do that don't cost a lot of money. We have enjoyed the workshop for kids at Lowes.

The girls are getting pretty good and they love getting a new patch for their apron. Did I mention these workshops are free??? Considering how much we have spent at Lowes in the last few months, it is nice to get a little kick back.

I took these pictures a few weeks ago at the workshop. This week they made a Valentine's mailbox. Chuck was on a trip with the camera, so I wasn't able to take any pics.

We have never gone to these but I would love to start. Are they on the second Saturday of the month?

They post a sheet with the dates in the store for the month. The next one is on the 23rd (for our area) at 10:00. Sometimes they are inside, sometimes outside, sometimes in lumber...they can be a bit tricky to find them. They usually have supplies for the first 50 kids who show up. We try and get there early so we don't miss out.

Now that we have gone a few times we bring our own apron back each time with the new patch sewed on. They don't get to keep the goggles or the hammer but everything else they keep. I even put the certificate in the homeschool portfolio.

That is really cool. Way to utilize what's out there. BTW, so glad to have a new cyberspace/blog buddy. Thanks for your comments. I read yours all the time on the other ladies' blogs and have been lurking your blog. And, one of your "things", about your pinky toe and painting skin, same here!!!

We will have to check that out. One of my kids (Ben) gets excited just going inside Lowes and touching/looking at the tools. I didn't know they had workshops. I wonder if ours does? Thanks for the idea, and thanks for visiting my blog and saying hello too.

So are you in on the C25K now too?

Rachael, I found your blog from someone else and loved your design. I am still working on mine to look more custom.

I am back to running again. I hate that I missed some time, but life has a way of doing that. It helps to have some accountability. Thanks for the comment.

Girls - I hope the valentines make it in time to be in your mail box. If not - know that I love you and wish we could "party" on Valentines day. Grammy

Hey Cris,
I'm up and running....finally.
You are so good at finding activities for your family. But I don't know how you find the time. With the 2 acres, the compost pile, homeschooling, running, tutoring..... You ARE Super Mom.
