A Big Bad Day For a Tree Hugger

We are bummed. Big time bummed. A combo of too much rain and wind today + the tree trimming didn't get done yet + already heavy on the right side of the tree = A big bad day for a tree hugger. Oddly enough, the tree service people were coming to our place this afternoon.

Yes, there were tears (by not just me). We will now figure out if the rest can be saved and how much this whole thing will cost us. This was a tree drama day for sure.

We did have a good talk with the girls and were able to seek the good in all situations. Only the neighbors fence was damaged. No one was hurt. We hadn't put the playset under the tree. It didn't fall on a house. God is still faithful and still good and still in control.

That is so sad... what a great tree! I am so proud of you for finding the positive in the situation.... so good for your girls to see :) We need to be thankful for all things and find the good in the bad... thank you for that reminder... you amaze me :)

Sorry for the bad tree day...Wow, that is really a split...right to the ground. So glad no other damage was done and totally ironic that it happened THE DAY the tree trimmers were finally coming. Thankful still for God's protection and grace still.

Oh wow. Your great big beautiful tree!

Sorry to tell you this, but we had a tree in our back yard split with a storm, and we had to pull the whole thing up -- it couldn't be salvaged with so much unprotected trunk. But, our tree wasn't as large as yours, so maybe there is still hope for yours!

Thank goodness all the people are okay though!
