Clunky ~ Groovy ~ Junk
Labels:
funny
We have been watching some old shows (total old school) and we have enjoyed them so much. My girls just found Little House, The Brady Bunch, and My Three Sons. Aside from the simple plot lines and the simple sets, we love the "slang". We crack up when Ernie describes some girl as clunky. Or when Marcia says something is groovy. And everyone uses the phrase junk or n'stuff to mean just about anything. We may just start this fad all over again.

Far out!
We LOVE watching old TV shows. We watched the Brady Bunch too last year. We have also enjoy Leave it to Beaver (my TOTAL favorite), Andy Griffith and my boys kids favorite Giligan's Island (Giligan is really SO silly). I am a great fan of old TV shows...clean, wholesome, simple, and fun. Yearning for days gone by!
I emailed my friend Stan Livingston (who played Chip on M3S) and told him you girls are loving the old episodes ...here's our exchange (today was his birthday)
"Hey Stan, Hope your birthday is great! -- I wanted to let you know that my 2 girls Tally (10) and Tristen (8) have discovered My Three Sons and they are LOVING it! They watch it everyday =) FWIW, thank you for your work back then. We're loving it at our house. ~cp"
"HEY CHUCK - Thanks for the b/day greeting. Glad you're enjoying the MTS DVD. I actually watched all of Volume One. Never saw most of the shows because I was watching "McHale's Navy" on a competing network back then. I was surprised... the episodes really are good! Can't wait to see Vol 2. - STAN"
I think it's funny that he missed his own show because he was watching McHale's Navy. =)

My kids also love these old shows. They haven't seen My Three Sons yet but I can't wait to watch it with them. We are HUGE Brady Bunch fans!
We've also enjoyed Leave it to Beaver and Beverly Hillbillies.
How cool about knowing Chip from My 3 Sons...I think we'll be looking for those at the library! We also love the Brady Bunch and Leave it to Beaver.
We just watched Father Knows Best episodes on hulu.com.
HEEHEE. Yes, let's start using these words again. It would be great!
